Our Story
Chris is a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is a passionate fundraiser who volunteers with the Lions Club and has spent many hours supporting those in need.
When Chris’s husband of 38 years passed away, she started planning to do something different with her life. She has always been the first to put her hand up for fundraising activities, or someone needs a hand.
This fundraising walk is a bit different, she is stepping out and doing it by herself. Chris has been planning this for some time but with COVID, border restrictions and personal complications this walk has been delayed for 4 years.
2024 is the year for Chris to put one foot in front of another, and walk the 3060km between Darwin and Adelaide. This trip is planned to take 103 days, averaging 30km a day. When the walk starts Chris will be 72 years old.
How You Can Help
Chris is seeking sponsorship and donations to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the Black Dog Institute, Dads for Kids, Beyond Blue and The Lions Club of Tenterfield. The fundraising goal is $50,000.
